Mariella Ahrens: “Isabella and I lived together for 23 years. We worked our way through many situations together, especially when she was little and I was a single parent with her.
Isabella stems from Ahrens’ relationship with Croatian entrepreneur Dragan Banić. Her second husband Patrick Graf von Faber-Castell (56, married until 2015) adopted her after the wedding.
This decision makes Ahrens nostalgic: “Men come and go, but my little girl was always there. We went through a lot together. Isabella also supported me emotionally in difficult situations. But we also laughed and celebrated a lot. It’s a big step for me to have to let go now. Letting go has always been difficult for me, even with men.

And further: “We have really been through a lot together – beautiful and sad. That’s why his departure was a very special moment for me. A mixture of joy because she is starting her own life and sadness because our roommate between girls is coming to an end.
Her youngest daughter Lucia (15) still lives with her, but “due to the pattern change with my ex-husband Patrick only every two weeks,” she explains.
Isabella found a 1-room apartment near Ku’damm in Berlin-Charlottenburg, “just a 5-minute drive” from her.
“But she’s still not here when I get home. It’s just going to be different now that we have to make an appointment now. But maybe that’s fine too. At least with my washing machine I can make her come to my house more often…” she laughs.

What future plans does your daughter have now? Ahrens: “Isa completed her bachelor’s degree in business administration this year. Now she works as a student employee in a real estate company and then wants to do her master’s degree.”
The mother-daughter duo mastered the move together. In “everyday things like insurance” Mama Mariella would like to continue to provide support. Ahrens: “And she often asks me about love too. But she’s still single.

Just like the mother! “I’m currently single but open to meeting the man I can imagine a relationship with. But I’m also doing very well as a single person,” says Ahrens.
And things are going well at work right now. From May 13, Ahrens will be on stage for six weeks for the theater play “Farewell Dinner” in Düsseldorf. “And in addition to acting, I now also do a lot of moderating for events,” says Ahrens.
