The “Let’s Dance” jury has been made up of the same three people since 2013: Jorge González, Motsi Mabuse and Joachim Llambi. For almost ten years that this jury has existed, the chief juror Llambi in particular regularly provokes the incomprehension of viewers with his judgments and his comments.
The quarter-finals of this year’s “Let’s Dance” season were no exception. Many users criticized her rating for Amira Pocher’s unique dance. Many didn’t understand why he gave the 29-year-old nine points, even though he had a few mistakes to criticize. In the eyes of the spectators, he punishes more harshly the faults committed by the other candidates. This Friday, however, there were also critical voices aimed at Jorge. The reason was a remark from the Cuban native after Amira’s performance.
“He didn’t really say that?!
After Amira danced a Paso Doble to Clint Mansell’s “Lux Aeterna” with Massimo Sinató, Jorge showered her with praise for her performance. He said, among other things:
“You are the queen of the gypsies.”

After Jorge’s assessment, moderator Daniel Hartwich remarked, slightly surprised, “Have fun with the Shitstorm.” And he was right. Some viewers were upset with Jorge’s statement online. A user on Twitter said: “Jorge didn’t say that seriously?! A little linguistic sensitivity isn’t too much to ask.” A viewer has shared a screenshot of the “Update – Deutschlandfunk Nova” podcast episode with Roma activist Gianni Jovanovic. She only added a few question marks to the screenshot, which were directed at Jorge.
The use of the term had already caused a scandal on the Internet last year: In an episode of the talk show “The Last Instance”, guests voted on the future use of the word “gypsy sauce”, although none of those present had an immigrant background.
Which celebrity was sent off before the semi-finals?
Of course, in the discussion on the net, we must not forget that “Let’s Dance” is above all dance. In the current week, the candidates took up a particular challenge: In addition to her individual dance, the trio dance was also on the program.
After the two dances, the standings were as follows: Janin and Zsolt were in first place with 60 points, followed by René and Kathrin as well as Mathias and Renata with 53 points each. Amira and Massimo along with Sarah and Vadim landed in the bottom two places with 51 and 47 points respectively. In the end, the “Let’s Dance” journey ended for one celebrity – and it was Sarah Mangione.
At the age of sixteen, Leni Klum shone with her mother Heidi on the cover of “Vogue” in Germany – since then she has been an integral part of the modeling world. Born in New York, she has already been in front of the camera for big brands like Dior and even released her own fashion collection with “About You.”
