Buying a graphics card: Price slider for RTX 3080

For a long time, the Geforce RTX 3080 was chronically drained because the powerful GPU was not only popular with crypto miners. For the past few months, you could easily buy an RTX 3080 with 10GB or 12GB, but the graphics cards were disproportionately expensive. In the meantime, prices are dropping significantly in weekly comparison, as our GPU market overview shows. But even the cheapest RTX 3060 or RTX 3070 graphics card deals now start at lower prices.

How have RTX 30 series graphics card prices changed?

If you want to buy a graphics card with a current Nvidia GPU, the Geforce RTX 3080 will get the biggest price drop from the previous week. The RTX 3080 10 GB is now available for less than 900 euros, or 56 euros less in weekly comparison. The cheapest price of the Geforce RTX 3080 12 GB has dropped again, it has fallen by more than 80 euros. Almost completely on all Geforce GPUs there are deep discounts, as our market overview of the cheapest Geforce deals from RTX 3050 to RTX 3090 Ti shows.

Geforce RTX 4000: supposedly with 100 TFLOPS FP32 performance

The Geforce RTX 4090 is said to have a performance of 100 TFLOPS FP32. On paper, the AD102 would be a bit faster than AMD’s Navi 31. The Geforce RTX 4000 as AD102 has reportedly had 18,432 FP32 shaders for quite some time. It is assumed that the Geforce RTX 4090 will be equipped with it and, according to the latest rumors, it should achieve just over 100 TFLOPS grid performance and therefore a little more than the fastest Radeon RX 7000, which is said to have 92 TFLOPS. That would be around a factor of 2.8 over the Geforce RTX 3090, which doesn’t seem entirely unrealistic at first glance. Rumors so far have clearly indicated that Nvidia will significantly increase the number of shaders on the flagship, but the break with the next smaller model, the Geforce RTX 4080, will be all the more significant. According to the data circulating, it should then reach the level of an RTX 3090. This would therefore mean that Nvidia would increase the performance and the price. In the Ada generation, the Geforce RTX 4080 would give you about the same performance as the Geforce RTX 3090. If you want more, you should go for the (temporary) flagship. On paper, it offers so much more.
