“If he was drunk…”: Heard accuses Depp of rape

“If he was drunk…”
Heard accuses Depp of rape

In recent weeks, Amber Heard has not held up well in the defamation lawsuit with her ex-husband Johnny Depp. Now, however, the actress is allowed to call her own witnesses. It starts with his psychologist, who accuses Depp of sexual abuse.

In the ongoing libel lawsuit between ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star Johnny Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard in Faifax, Va., a number of witnesses have testified for Depp in recent weeks. After the evidence concluded on Tuesday and Judge Penny Azcarate denied Heard’s attorneys’ motion to dismiss the lawsuit, the 36-year-old’s testimony began.

The first witness to date, psychologist Dawn Hughes, has reported, citing her patient, among other things, controlling behavior and domestic violence on the part of the actor. As a result, Depp became dominant, possessive, controlling, and increasingly jealous during his marriage to Heard. It bothered him when the “Aquaman” actress dressed too revealingly and supposedly showed “boobs and buttocks,” according to Hughes. His jealousy even went so far that he contacted Heard’s male colleagues to threaten them. According to Hughes, Heard’s career suffered greatly.

Depp was particularly jealous of James Franco, whom Heard had been on camera with for “Pineapple Express” and “The Adderall Diaries,” Hughes reported. Heard told her the actor made a scene about Franco on a flight from Boston to Los Angeles and kicked him in the back out of anger. Out of fear, Heard did not return home with Depp, but checked into a hotel. This testimony from Dr. Hughes covered a number of incidents previously discussed during the trial – although in different detail from the testimony of previous witnesses.

“He threw her on the bed and tore her nightgown”

The psychologist also accused him of sexual abuse: “When Mr. Depp was drunk or high, he threw her on the bed, tore her nightgown and tried to have sex with her”, Hughes said. When he was angry, he repeatedly forced Heard to perform oral sex. In the infamous row the ex-couple had in Australia, Depp first beat Heard up and yelled at him, “I’m going to kill you, I hate you!” Later, he inserted a bottle into her vagina against her will.

Accounts of the incident in Australia also differ widely. Heard accuses her ex of holding her hostage for three days while drunk and sexually assaulting her. Depp, on the other hand, accuses him of throwing bottles at him during the argument. One of them crashed into the counter he was sitting in front of and cut the tip of his middle finger. His bodyguards and Heard’s nurse said they saw no injuries to Heard.

Then said Dr. Hughes revealed that Heard was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of the abuse she suffered at the hands of her ex-husband. This finding contradicts that of Dr. Shannon Curry, who testified last week as a witness in the Depp case and sees borderline disorder – a personality disorder – in Heard.

Amber Heard deplores physical violence

Her patients have been honest in therapy sessions about the emotional and physical abuse she used against her ex-husband, Hughes said. She admitted to insulting and insulting the 58-year-old and mocking his abilities as a father. She also punched him and threw things at him. However, Hughes dismissed a claim by Heard and Depp’s ex-marriage counselor, Laurel Anderson, that the couple were responsible for “mutual abuse”. Heard also expressed regret for his behavior.

Hughes will cross-examine questions from Depp’s lawyers as the trial continues on Wednesday. It is unclear how long the defamation process will drag on. Several US media speculate that it could be around three weeks before a verdict is handed down. Nearly 120 people would be on the only list of possible witnesses.

Johnny Depp sued Amber Heard for $50 million over an article she published in The Washington Post in 2018. In it, she claimed to be a victim of domestic violence. She did not mention her ex-husband by name. Depp claims that the position nevertheless ruined his career, damaged his reputation and cost him a lot of money as a result. Heard has filed a $100 million counterclaim against her ex.

Depp and Heard started dating in early 2012 after meeting on the set of The Rum Diary. Hollywood stars got married in 2015. The marriage lasted only 15 months. The actor lost a libel suit against ‘The Sun’ newspaper in Britain in 2020. The newspaper had described Depp in an article as a “wife beater”. Depp has denied all allegations of domestic violence.
