Carmen Geiss experiences a moment of shock in the current double episode of “The Geissens – a terribly glamorous family” (Mondays at 8:15 p.m. on RTLZWEI): When she sees her rental car in Fort Lauderdale, she almost gets hit: ” It’s red!” exclaimed the 56-year-old.

Loyal Geissens viewers know it: red cars are on the millionaire’s wife’s forbidden list. “A fortune teller once told me that I would die in a red car,” she explains of her dislike of vehicles with this livery – a bit of superstition never hurt nobody, right? !

But without a car in Fort Lauderdale, you’re in trouble, and Carmen knows it too: “It’s okay, I’ll do it now”, she decides to get in the “damn” car. Robert knows Carmen’s aversion and is surprised when he sees her coming: “A red car? I’m not going. I’m scared,” he says with a smile.

“Les Geissens”: Suddenly the rental car disappeared

After a short shopping spree, the Geissens park their unloved vehicle in an all-locations resident parking zone — they’ve saved the $100 for a private parking spot for now. But in the end they end up paying dearly because: The next morning their rental car seems to have disappeared from the face of the earth. “It was either stolen or towed,” suspects Robert.

Carmen Geiss doesn’t think red cars work at all.

It quickly turns out that the rental car is actually in the parking lot of a towing company. Robert and Carmen’s attempt to buy the car back quickly fails. According to a new law, the car can only be handed over to the rightful owner. The Geissens must withdraw without having obtained anything. For Carmen and Robert, things are clear, the color brings bad luck is at the origin of misery: “Red cars really bring bad luck!”, laughs Robert.

Test drive with the “Donzi” speedboat

But there is another vehicle that worries the Geissens: their “Donzi” speedboat. It’s been resting in Florida for years for repair, having been confiscated in Costa Rica in 2014. Supposedly, it should finally be roadworthy again. The first look gives hope: the three engines look good. To make the “Donzi” look stylish again, it should be pimped with foil stickers that artist friend Shari designed for the Geissens. “You can’t win a beauty pageant with that, but that’s enough for now,” says Carmen.

Robert Geiss is happy that his “Donzi” speedboat is working again.

After a day with a tornado warning and a long shopping spree in the fishing megastore, it’s finally time to take the “Donzi” for a test drive: When the speedboat is in the water and the engines roar , Robert Geiss can’t stop smiling: “I’m coming, I feel like I’m 18 again,” he beamed. And Carmen is happy, too – even if that means she’ll soon have to endure one of her husband’s hobbies that she herself finds deadly boring: “I hate fishing,” Carmen moans. But what don’t you do to make “The Män” have fun?
