The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 (the successor has yet to be named) has been delayed to 2023, which was quite disappointing for many fans. We haven’t really learned much about the game either, other than other questions like “why does Link’s right hand look so scary”. Now a voice actor has more information about the Scenario in Breath of the Wild 2.
Warning (possible) spoilers!!! – Like an Italian Zelda fan site called Lega Hyrule reported on YouTube they recently spoke to Darku’s Italian voice actor Pietro Ubaldi. Although the voice actor doesn’t remember many details, he claims to be playing an ancestor of Daruk.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 appears to be set in the past
“Yes, whose name I unfortunately don’t remember,” Ubaldi replied when asked about Daruk’s ancestry, adding that this ancestor will be “a bit more serious” than Daruk. The Italian voice actor has also confirmed that the voice acting is in full swing. What does this mean for us? The development of the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is – most likely – in the final stages.
If what Lega Hyrule says is true, then the Storyline of Breath of the Wild 2 well 10,000 have played in the past, during the “Great Cataclysm”. And if what we’ve seen in the trailers so far is true, then Link is indeed “the ancient hero.” The other possibility is that Link dates back to the time of the Great Cataclysm, which ironically makes the former hero and Breath of the Wilds Link the same person. Also possible.
Breath of the Wild sequel is coming in 2023
As we told you, the Nintendo Switch game will be released in 2023. According to analysts at Digital Foundry, the Breath of the Wild 2 trailer was not shown on a standard switch. Frame rates, draw distances, rendered atmospheric effects, and other graphical details seem too chunky for a commercial Switch. The Zelda game may appear with a new Switch 2 or Switch Pro variant.
The previously linked news is from 2020 and predicted a new Nintendo console for 2023. It’s obvious to Nintendo that this probably won’t be a brand new system. The first Switch appeared in 2017. In 2019 the Lite version and in 2021 the OLED edition. Maybe 2023 will be the right year for Nintendo to launch a new, more powerful Switch. There is a downside for 2022: Nintendo expects delivery bottlenecks.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 (working title) will be published in 2023.
