Nothing, the company behind the Nothing Ear (1) true wireless headphones, has confirmed that it will launch its first-ever smartphone later this year. Company founder Carl Pei hosted a virtual event in March to talk about the upcoming phone’s features and what people can expect from the brand’s first smartphone.

First of all, the phone will be called Nothing Phone (1) and the device will be launched this summer (US), which means that the phone could be launched in July, August or September. Moreover, during the event, Carl confirmed that the phone will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and, in terms of software, Nothing OS. During the event, it had also said that the Nothing OS Launcher will be available for some Android phones in April and now that there are only a few days left in the month, the company has released the beta version of the Nothing Launcher in the Playstore from Google. .

The beta version of Nothing Launcher is now available for download on the Google Play Store. However, installation is limited to a few devices. As of now, the launcher is available for Samsung Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21, Google Pixel 5 and Pixel 6 series devices. The app is 5.8MB and the minimum software requirement is Android 8 and above. As far as features go, Nothing Launcher comes with matrix design language, max icons and max folders. Along with these, you also get custom weather and clock widgets. Moreover, users can also enlarge app icons and folders. Finally, the company also confirmed that users of OnePlus devices will soon be able to install the launcher.

The company has already confirmed that the Nothing Phone(1) will receive three years of Android operating system updates and four years of security updates.
